The complexity Hillary Clinton’s role in the “Arab Spring” was more assertive than that of President Obama. Obama was critisized for being “ambivalent and hesitant,” when it came to actively engaging with regional players. Clintons devotion to leveraging media channels, used to solie influence the geopolitical areana tailored to sway the outcomes to the benefit of the Muslim Brotherhood, was brought to light via emails that had been leaked.

Clinton’s emails reveal her active involvement in influencing the Arab Spring uprisings. In 2010 Khanfar reportedly urged U.S. officials, particularly Clinton, to intervene in regime changes in Egypt, Libya, and Syria. Clinton’s top aide, Huma Abedin—herself linked to a prominent Muslim Brotherhood family—facilitated these connections.

Clinton allegedly promised U.S. support for Al- Jazeera and other Brotherhood-linked media outlets in exchange for propagating Islamist political ideology across Arab and Islamic television and radio stations.
